Los Encuentros was created in 1999 as a travel lodge in the Mayan Highlands of Guatemala with the theme of helping guests experience Mayan Culture through direct contact with its contemporary indigenous life. The recent phenomenon of professionals working remotely rather than travelling to a physical office location has added a facet to our attractiveness. With recent upgrading of our Wi-Fi service, we are an ideal destination that allows enjoying a unique vacation environment while maintaining work productivity.
CONCEPT
Five independent units are offered for extended stay with a minimum stay of one week. We encourage multiple weeks and longer-term leasing with increasingly thrifty rates depending on length of stay. We are located in a small, secure, spa-styled compound which has characteristically operated as a cultural center. We have five first-world quality units; a combination of studios and apartments which surround a unique, central culinary and medicinal herb garden. We have recently upgraded our Wi-Fi service to offer access to all units. We have added the feature of a guest business center where you can work quietly on the grounds without disturbing anyone staying in your unit with you. This adds to the attractiveness of our own hot soak tub, exercise room, wood-burning sauna, and garden massage room. We are only a few blocks from a modern supermarket and a 15-minute walk to town center.
